Arden is a character I helped make with a friend of mine for a dnd campaign as a player who is the twist big bad, but I'm adding him to my roster because he's cool. He is tall and slender, but he can shift his shape to his whim. He is cunning and manipulative and will do whatever it takes to punish any being of flesh for their sins. As the pale king, he used to be the stand-in for the archfey the Queen of Air and Darkness, who was the queen of the Unseelie Court. Tired of being a replacement ruler for when she went into trances every night, he decided to kill the queen and rise to the position as the king of the Unseelie Court. Already at the top, he grew more and more powerful, eventually being known as the Monarch of Thought, as fae are beings of thought and emotion. He had all of this power, yet he remained unsatiated. Every creature not faekind, they were all beings of flesh and blood, and they were greedy, decadent, and desired mostly material wants, such as money or jewels. And he began to hate. He despised their gluttony, their laziness, their flesh. All of the collected emotion across the realms would not equal one one-billionth of the hate he felt for them. He despised them, and he wanted to rule over them, to control them. And he made the perfect disguise. Drothmyr, an elven wizard.
